Dr. Louis Lei Jin is a nationally board-certified Diplomate with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and holds acupuncture licenses in both Texas and Wisconsin. As a fourth-generation Eastern Medicine expert, Dr. Louis has spent 19 years fusing Eastern and Western medical practices to deliver truly integrative healthcare and is currently serving as a Staff Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Mindfulness-Based Practitioner.
A widely recognized leader in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine, Dr. Louis blends ancient healing traditions with modern medical techniques. His approach seamlessly combines integrative, alternative, and complementary therapies, providing patients with comprehensive care for a wide range of health conditions, Dr. Louis specializes in treating Neurology, Oncology, Men’s Health, Autoimmune/Allergic Disorders and Orthopedic/Musculoskeletal Disorders, and delivers results-driven care rooted in both tradition and innovation.
Dr. Louis launched his herbal practice in Milwaukee, WI, in 2006 and in 2023, he began a new chapter in North Houston, Texas, joining Dr. Belinda He of The Woodlands Acupuncture & Herbal Clinic, bringing his deep expertise and innovative healing methods to The Woodlands and surrounding North Houston communities. Over the past decade, Dr. Louis has risen as a leading force in holistic healing and integrative health in the United States. Known to be a passionate advocate and fierce defender of the profession, he has shaped the field through both scholarship and service. Dr. Louis’s prolific academic contributions - 25 research papers and 6 books since 2006, producer of a documentary short, and a hip-hop song, - reflect his unwavering commitment to advancing Eastern Medicine.
Dr. Louis’s influence extends far beyond the clinic. He has held pivotal leadership roles, including Past President and Board Chair of the Wisconsin Society of Acupuncturists (WISCA) and Executive Council Member of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS). Internationally, he serves as Senior Expert at Wenzhou Medical University’s Sino-US Institute for Acupuncture and Rehabilitation.
In Texas, Dr. Louis is currently an Executive Board Member/Treasurer of the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (TAAOM). Nationally, he chairs the Social Media Committee for the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA), serves on its Acupuncture Trigger Point - Advanced Dry Needling Expert Panel, and advises the Young Acupuncturists Association of America (YAAA). He also volunteers as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Artificial Intelligence Taskforce for the NCCAOM.
Dr. Louis’s commitment to integrative medicine is global. He is currently the Secretary of the International Institute of Systems Medicine (IISM), Vice President of the European Society for Systems Medicine Research (ESSMR), and an active member of the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO). His leadership includes roles as Past Chair of Membership for the American Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (ATCMA), Secretary General of its Medical Tai Chi and Qigong subcommittee, and General Affairs Director for the Chinese Medicine Luobing Society of America. He also serves as an overseas board member for multiple World Federation of Chinese Medicine Society (WFCMS) specialty committees.
Through these influential positions, Dr. Louis is a strong proponent of bridging Eastern and Western medicines and champions a holistic vision of health that resonates from rural Texas communities to the international stage. Background and Experience
Born into 4th-generation scholar family (late maternal grandfather Dr. Dequan Xiang was 1st generation surgeon in China, late paternal grandfather Prof. Songshou Jin was a famed Chemist who was on the Nobel Prize of Chemistry list for discovering selective intermolecular force), After college, which Dr. Louis earnt as B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science and Software Engineering, he knew his heart of being a healer still was calling, so since 2003, he returned to the pursuit of his childhood dream of becoming a Chinese physician as he completed multiple advanced training in the fields of Medical Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Self-Healing modalities by apprenticing directly under the tutelage of greats like his own father, Prof. Guan-Yuan Jin of Wisconsin, USA (Acupuncture), Prof. Rong-Sheng Lin of New York (Allergy/immunology), Prof. Ruanjin Zhao of Florida (Integrative oncology) and Prof. Li-Hong Liu of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine (classical Shang han lun and Nei jin) Dr. Louis's expertise is treating tough pains and sports injuries, hormonal imbalance, endocrine diseases, and oncology issues. In 2015, due to his increasing reputation in the profession, Dr. Louis was voted into a member of the Standing Committees of multiple Specialty Committees of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. Also, many professional athletes came to Dr. Louis to be seen to either speed up their rehabilitation of injuries or to avoid surgeries. In his spare time, Dr. Louis teaches medical Tai Chi and Qigong or various self-healing exercises to a wide range of organizations. Dr. Louis also has experience in dealing with large associations and organizations as he was part of the Society of Chinese American Professors and Scientists, the Association of Chinese Scientists and Engineers.
